Hull KR coach Willie Peters delivers seething verdict on massive Super League loss to Leeds Rhinos in Las Vegas: We let our fans down

Hull KR head coach Willie Peters said his side delivered their worst performance under him as they "let their fans down" with a 58-6 loss to Leeds Rhinos in Las Vegas.

It was truly a demolition job from the Rhinos as they ran in 10 tries, four through winger Maika Sivo, as they ran riot on the biggest stage, Hull KR simply falling apart at the slightest bit of pressure.

It was a reality check for the Robins after their massive World Club Challenge win over Brisbane Broncos, putting them on zero Super League points after two matches following their shock opening loss to York Knights in round one.

Peters was clearly seething following his side's showing and was quick to apologise to the fans who had travelled thousands of miles to watch their side suffer in 'Sin City'.

"Where do I start? We were beaten in every area and, to be honest, the people I feel sorry for are the fans that paid hard-earned money to come to watch that," Peters said.

"To spend or save money to come and watch their team play and we deliver a performance like that, it is just nowhere near good enough.

"We need to all look at ourselves, myself at the top of that, to find out why we got that performance, but it certainly brought us back down to earth, that's for sure.

"We are there to make sure that we action more than words and do something about it, because if that's going to be the template of what we do this season then we are in for a long season."

After a loss like that in Super League it would be highly unlikely that the players would be heading out on the town to celebrate anything.

However, it is not often you play a Super League game in Las Vegas.

Peters said he would be leaving it to the players to make their own decisions on how they would spend their evening and what they deserved to do.

"I will leave it up to them. They can go have a drink, if they don't, it is up to them," added Peters.

"They are men, men make decisions, their own decisions. Most of the time, you'd like to think men make the right decisions around if they earned it or deserve it. It is up to them.

"We have got to go see our fans and I'll be there. I think people have organised something else. Whether they go to that, that's up to them.

"If the players want to have a beer, they can have a beer, but if they decide to go out and do what they want to do, then that's up to them."

It was suggested the Robins were still riding high on their World Club Challenge win over Brisbane Broncos but Peters refuted that.

"There are no excuses for that. Not that, not what we just delivered," Peters said.

"If we perform and we get beat, then maybe there is no excuses why we ran out of petrol or whatever, but that performance is no excuse.

"I am not going to sit here and deliver excuses of last week and all that sort of stuff, because it's going to get tougher.

"We all need to look at ourselves, so every individual needs to look at themselves and go why they delivered that performance and how they can improve.

"There were some individuals there that weren't themselves, and we need to find out why."
